Stage program 2025
The stage, which is set up on the stone platform on Berliner Platz, will once again provide the perfect Christmas atmosphere this year.
A varied stage program is offered from Thursdays to Sundays. Visitors can look forward to a variety of different artists: from jazz bands and children's concerts to magic shows, local and visiting artists will delight visitors with their talents.

November 27 - 6:30 p.m.
The "Shanty-Chor Gütersloh" was founded 30 years ago. In the past, up to a thousand visitors have come to listen to the shanty choir's sea shanties at performances such as the Christmas concert in Gütersloh's Stadthalle. In addition to shanties, the musicians also perform popular maritime evergreens.

Malcolm Holmes, a native of Wallasey, brings years of musical experience as a lead singer. In addition to his impressive performances of songs such as "Chasing Cars", "You Raise Me Up" and "Supergirl", he will also be presenting a very special Christmas repertoire this festive season. With classics such as "Silent Night", "Winter Wonderland" and "Leise rieselt der Schnee", he will create a contemplative and atmospheric mood that will warm the hearts of listeners at this special time of year. Visitors can look forward to an unforgettable musical journey through the most beautiful Christmas songs!

U.B.A.K.A. Ostwestfalen e. V. is a non-profit association that has been supporting disadvantaged children and young people in East Westphalia for many years. More than 2,000 prizes were collected in advance for this year's Christmas raffle so that the proceeds from the raffle at 100% can benefit the children, because U.B.A.K.A. Ostwestfalen e. V. gives children a smile. The sale of raffle tickets will start at 12 noon and the prizes (main prize including a bicycle, television etc.) will be handed out between 4 and 5 pm.

In the winter months, Gütersloh has been ringing out a special sound for over 200 years: the Gütersloh night chimes. From the end of October to the beginning of February, the night chimes can be heard every Saturday evening from the bell tower of Martin Luther Church. This traditional way of making music with church bells is now only practiced in Gütersloh throughout Germany.

Two voices and an acoustic guitar: that's the duo "Lady & Gentleman". The Verl singer Kathrin Horstkötter and the Gütersloh thoroughbred musician Christian Dahlke inspire with two-part singing and provide an entertaining evening with hits from pop and rock music.

Kassel-based children's songwriter and entertainer Jürgen Müller is coming to the Christmas market with his guitar and lots of good humor. As "Mr. Müller and his guitar", he presents his winter and Christmas program "Soft toy kissing under the mistletoe" in Gütersloh and invites his audience to join in with humour and catchy melodies.

With around 70 active musicians, the orchestra of the Avenwedde Music Association can regularly be seen at shooting festivals, events in and around Avenwedde, various Christmas markets and, above all, its big annual spring concert in the Gütersloh town hall. Their musical spectrum ranges from traditional marches to modern pop songs.

The "Final Bar Orchestra" presents a program of jazz, funk, Latin and swing on the stage of the Gütersloh Christmas market. With 20 musicians and singer Dörte Stippich, the Bielefeld big band offers powerful brass sections and sensitively interpreted ballads. The wide-ranging set list includes jazzy arrangements of traditional American Christmas music as well as songs by Carole King, Norah Jones and other artists. The performance is rounded off with instrumental pieces in which soloists show off all their joy of playing.

St. Nicholas is coming! A very special St. Nicholas Day awaits the children on December 6. St. Nicholas will not only tell a magical Christmas story, but will also have a little surprise for the young visitors. The children can look forward to a personal encounter with St. Nicholas, who will be available for photos.

24-year-old Jannik Regenberg has been living out his passion as a singer and songwriter with his guitar for over six years. Jannik has been the lead singer of the band „The Dizzy Dudes“ since 2023. His solo project under the stage name „Mountain Climate“ stands for indie rock and blues. With self-composed and written songs as well as selected cover songs, he convinces his audience with his unmistakable voice.

Tim Doppmeier was accepted into the Magic Circle in 2011 after his final examination and has been enchanting his audience with a wide variety of tricks ever since. If you want to be enchanted by Tim, come to the Gütersloh Christmas market on Sunday, December 1, at 3 pm.

The Avenwedde fire brigade marching band is a modern marching band that has already celebrated its 100th anniversary. As part of the Gütersloh volunteer fire department, the approximately 35 active musicians play at folk, shooting and fire department festivals in the surrounding area.

"Pocket Groove" is a five-piece band from East Westphalia-Lippe that specializes in funk and soul arrangements of well-known songs. The musicians Sonja Feldbauer (vocals), Martin Betker (guitar), Bengt Maas (keys), Oliver Lamm (bass) and Patrick Schumacher (drums) know how to create groovy listening experiences and have made a name for themselves in the local music scene thanks to years of experience on a wide variety of stages.

The musician Sem Seiffert plays family-friendly pop-rock with that certain something. He has already released two albums with the titles "Farbulös" and "Eine Prise Fantasie". With his songs for kindergarten and primary school children, SEM performs throughout Germany to teach children to enjoy music and movement.

With music ranging from Coldplay to the much-loved American winter classics, Tommy Soleil takes his audience on a winter wonderland! The young pianist not only plays the piano, but also sings along to his own arrangements. Between "Let it snow", "Christmas Lights" and "Sleigh Ride", "In der Weihnachtsbäckerei" and "Drei Haselnüsse für Aschenbrödel" will not be missing. There will also be a small concert of wishes - with the wishes of the visitors.

Lena is the new star of knowledge transfer for children on social media. With her TikTok, Instagram and YouTube channel „Kinderfragen“, she has been inspiring thousands of young viewers and their parents alike for two and a half years now. Since May 2024, Lena has been expanding her repertoire and combining knowledge transfer with music. With her rap lyrics for children, she creates catchy rhythms and combines fun and education in a unique way.

Originally formed from a bowling group, the "Kottenbläser" have now been making music together for over 20 years. They have been showcasing their love of music at town festivals and markets ever since.

As a registered association, the "Emsmöwen" have stood for the promotion and preservation of musical seafaring customs for more than a quarter of a century. With their performance of various shanties, the choir members will once again conjure up a maritime flair at the Gütersloh Christmas market this year.

Singer Madline Wittenbrink and guitarist Jay Minor have been making music together for many years as a duo and in the band "neXus". Whether rock, jazz or ballad, Madline's powerful voice inspires the audience and she made it to the second phase of "The Voice of Germany" in 2019. The duo will be playing various acoustic songs at the Christmas market.

The 25 brass players from Posaunenchor Stadtmitte and Bläserchor Erlöserkirche, both under the direction of Martin Stork, will present a diverse mix of Advent and Christmas carols. The program also includes songs that are not seasonal, such as "Adagietto" by Jacob de Haan.

Fairy tales have been inspiring children for a long time. As gripping stories about fantastic experiences, fairy tales told freely are particularly impressive. That's why fairy tale fans of all ages can look forward to the fairy tale stage, where they can listen to the sometimes more and sometimes less well-known, freely told fairy tales. The freelance storyteller Rita Maria Fröhle, who has been active since 1987, lovingly transports the audience into magical fairytale worlds with her voice.

Lotti & Pat - 2 thoroughbred musicians who have been on the road as professionals on many stages for a long time and have formed a duo by chance.
Patrick "Pat" Trewin attracted the attention of the audience back in 2012 on the TV format "X-Factor" with his warm falsetto and extraordinary vocal techniques. His passion for live music and his influences from the R'n'B of the 90s and 2000s, inspired by greats such as Michael Jackson and Justin Timberlake, characterize his unique style.
Lotti, who started playing the piano at the age of 4, has already performed on stage with greats such as R. Kelly, Xavier Naidoo, Angie Stone, Melanie Thornton and many more and has made a name for herself in the big music world.
Thanks to their stage experience, Lotti & Pat have built up an extensive repertoire of pop hits, funk, soul and R'n'B as well as classics.

The Symphonic Wind Orchestra of the Gütersloh Fire Brigade under the direction of Daniel Reichert delights its audience with its high level of musicality and joy of playing. At the Gütersloh Christmas market, the orchestra shows its Christmas side and plays traditional Christmas carols and other Christmas pieces as well as entertainment music.

Simon Drosten has been best known as the founder and resident DJ of the Wapelbeats Open Air since 2011. His sets are always characterized by a mix of driving, energetic beats and melodic, dreamy sounds. Outside of the Wapelbad, Simon makes frequent stops in the local club scene and enjoys performing on the region's festival stages, especially in the summer months.
