Der 54 km lange Wanderweg führt Wanderbegeisterte rund um Gütersloh. Beginnend am Rathaus führt der Weg durch die Einkaufsmeile Berliner Straße und anschließend entlang der Dalke bis zum ehemaligen Flughafen. Entlang der Talauen der Lutter führt der Weg weiter nach Isselhorst. Anschließend durchquert der Furhmannsweg Friedrichsdorf, Avenwedde, Spexard und schließlich Kattenstroth, um zuletzt wieder an der Dalke entlang zum Rathaus zurückzuführen.
Pilgern vor der Haustür: Auch in Deutschland gibt es Pilgerwege. Eine Route des Jakobsweges führt zum Beispiel von Minden über Bielefeld und Lippstadt nach Soest. Dabei passieren Sie auch Gütersloh. Hier wurde die ursprüngliche Pilgerroute durch den Landschaftsverband Westfalen-Lippe (LWL) rekonstruiert.
