Anniversary tours with new city guides
New tours in the gtm program
To mark the city's 200th anniversary, we are offering a special highlight this year: Anniversary tours with changing themes. Every third Saturday of the month, there will be a public city tour where participants can explore Gütersloh from different perspectives. The tours in April, May and June are offered by new city guides who were recently trained by Gütersloh Marketing and VHS Gütersloh in a program lasting several months and are now joining the team of gtm city guides.
On Holy Saturday, April 19, an anniversary tour of the Botanical Garden with hobby gardener Anita Offel-Grohmann starts at 3 pm. Just in time for the blooming of the hyacinths and tulips, the new park guide will show the highlights of the spring planting in the Botanical Garden. The meeting point for the guided tour is at the entrance to the Botanical Garden (corner of Parkstraße and Badstraße). Tickets for this guided tour are available viewed here.
The anniversary tour on May 17 at 11 a.m. is all about favorite places. Imke Kuck will take those interested on a tour of Gütersloh's (favorite) places under the title "Here is my place - 200 years of the city of Gütersloh". The tour starts at Café Fritzenkötter (Strengerstr. 2). Tickets for this guided tour are available viewed here.
On Saturday, June 21, Susanne Förder will shed light on the "little stories behind the big history". Her anniversary tour starts at 11 a.m. at the old chestnut tree on Berliner Platz and provides insights into amusing details and surprising excerpts from Gütersloh's history. Tickets for this guided tour are available viewed here.
Tickets for the anniversary tours are available at the gtm tourist information office (Berliner Straße 63) and online at www.reservix.de available for 8 euros per person. All information on the anniversary tours and other themed tours can be found at www.guetersloh-marketing.de viewable.
